We are based in North Texas, a region that, like many parts of the US, experiences extreme weather conditions. Searing hot heat, high winds, freezing cold, hail, ice, drought, humidity, allergens, ozone, maxed out UV indexes, and many other environmental factors are part of the varied conditions we are exposed to each day. Beyond the impact this environment can have on how we build our homes or plan outdoor activities, it can have a huge impact on our body's largest organ...the skin.
The outdoor climate is not the only concern for our skin as we often have to spend considerable amounts of time indoors due to weather, work, etc. Indoor pollutants and central heat and air conditioning can furfther dry out or irritate the skin. And of course aging only compounds the environmental factors. As with many other households, over time we became more self-aware of these impacts on our skin and began to collect a seemingly endless variety of skincare products trying to offset these effects.
our beginning
We could never seem to find the right balance of skincare products to meet our needs and encountered some common themes. Products that would clean or tone your skin, but leave it dry from sulfates or alcohols. Products that would mositurize, but leave your skin greasy. Products with labels that read like a chemistry exam. Products with more simple ingredient lists only to find they are loaded with irritating synthetic fragrances with undisclosed components that could include endocrine disruptors. And those that go to the other extreme with all organic ingredients, but then they may have too many potentially irritating essential oils and have no preservatives and put consumer safety at risk just for marketing claims.
After this frustrating journey we decided that despite so many product choices already available we can't be alone in our struggles to find non-irritating and well balanced skincare products. We also wanted to build something together as a family that we could pass down in the future to our young daughter Amber.
A desire for products that balance natural and organic ingredients with efficacy and product safety along with the reminder of youth our daughter provides us each day was the inspiration for amberganics.
the mission and approach
To formulate and sell high quality, non-irritating skincare products that balance natural and organic ingredients with product safety and efficacy.
We encourage everyone to be mindful of what they put on their face or apply to their body and for transparency we include a full listing of ingredients for each product on our website for you to review prior to purchase.
Our formulations are never tested on animals and do not use artificial colors, synthetic fragrances, parabens or phthalates. All of our products that contain water use preservative systems for product safety purposes.
Our products are manufactured in the United States of America in FDA certified and GMP compliant facilities with high quality ingredients sourced domestically and from around the world. As we use many different botanical ingredients as part of our formulations, some of these may not be grown in the USA and need to be sourced globally from reputable suppliers.
We work to balance the use of recyclable or reusable jars and bottles with packaging that minimizes oxidation of botanical ingredients. We minimize disposable packaging by not using individual product boxes that often just get thrown in the trash immediately after opening and may be too small to have a realistic chance at being recycled.
We appreciate our customers and welcome their input and feedback to ensure our products continue to provide value and usefulness to them.
